Payroll robbery brings the Mesquiteers into action! When the gang is caught, the leader is killed and his young son is sent to a work farm. The Mesquiteers adopt the boy hoping to learn when the money is. Just as they see a possible payoff one of the gang takes the boy and forces him to retrieve the money for the gang.

Following the Spanish-American War, the Three Mesquiteers return to Oklahoma and learn that some of their wounded buddies have very little prospects of a flourishing future. The government offers preferred homesteads in the newly opened Oklahoma territory to these vets – and, the Mesquiteers send word to their pals. Once they arrive, their reception is less than pleasant by the cattlemen who resent these “nesters.” Not only are plans made to drive them out – but, to double-cross the cattlemen and gain exclusive titles to the range lands by the villains – Mace (William Ruhl) and Orv (Harold Daniels) Liscomb. The Mesquiteers show the cattlemen that they and the settlers have a common enemy. United they can find the room for both parties – and, destroy the Liscomb brothers plans.
