THE BIG SHOW:
The Big Show was filmed on a modest budget but Republic gave it a much more elaborate look for the money. In this western Gene Autry plays dual roles. When cowboy star Tom Ford (played by Autry) disappears, his screen double (played by who else but Gene Autry) impersonates him for the movie studio. Ford the star owes gangster Rico $10,000 and Rico arrives to collect. He fails to get the money but learns that Autry is really an impersonator and now blackmails the movie studio. You have to stay till the end to see the outcome! A young Roy Rogers makes an appearance with the Sons of the Pioneers.

OH SUSANNA:
Outlaw Benson, in flight from the law, hops a train, throws Autry off and assumes his identity. Still posing as Autry, Benson robs and kills Autry’s friend. Autry is wrongly accused and jailed, his friends Frog and the Professor take action. The break Autry out of the jail and the three are headed to clear him of all charges – and bring the outlaw to justice.
