Jungle Girl and the Slaver, Women of Wongo
Format: DVD
JUNGLE GIRL AND THE SLAVER
Marion Michael, West Germany’s answer to Brigitte Bardot, reprises her role as Liane, “primitive, pulsating, thrill girl, in this sequel to “Liane – Jungle Goddess” about a legendary white girl lives in the jungle (a female Tarzan wannabe with conch shell-covered breasts) who somehow is the key to bringing “primitive” tribes together in a united front against slave traders. She gives up her leopard skins and sets off for filmed-on-location Cairo and the Egyptian desert to battle the flesh-dealing Arabs. The dubbing (she’s referred to as “Diane”) and continuity are laughable, and our Aryan poster girl always wears shorts that reveals a perpetual “wedgie”…say, wait a minute, maybe this movie isn’t so bad.

WILD WOMEN OF WONGO
It’s a tale about the island of Wongo, inhabited by beautiful women. But there is one thing wrong…the men are brutes. On the island of Goona, the opposite is true, the men look like Adonis, and the women are hags. When a Goona prince happens upon Wongo, the women swoon over their studly visitor. Joe six-packs, er, six-coconuts, don’t take kindly to it any more than the harpies (complete with animal skin house-dresses) back home. The acting, sets, and costumes make an elementary school pageant seem like a Broadway show, but it does have two attributes: It’s in color and in the English language!
